This study day will introduce participants to providing dental care for patients with a range of physical and/or cognitive disabilities. Issues arising in treatment planning, including capacity to consent, will be explored through use of patient cases, with opportunities for discussion of strategies to facilitate treatment provision. Participants will be introduced to a variety of alternative and augmentative communication methods available to overcome difficulties with communication.
